Entrepreneurship,
a pillar of freedom
now shares democracy's
The erosion of democratic values impacts everyone—especially entrepreneurs, who drive freedom and innovation. Imaguru’s decade-long journey in Belarus demonstrates how entrepreneurial ecosystems empower societies to resist oppression and uphold dignity.
Yet today, this symbol of progress and democratic values has been unjustly labeled an 'extremist formation,' with its founder, Tania Marinich, sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison, alongside other team members, by Belarus authoritarian regime.
This is a global call to action. Let us stand with Imaguru to defend entrepreneurship and innovation—cornerstones of freedom, resilience, and humanity.

Together, we can make a difference.

The persecution of Imaguru is a stark reminder of the fragility of democracy and the vulnerability of entrepreneurial ecosystems within.

Like the Nazi book burnings of 1933, it symbolizes a dangerous crackdown on freedom and ideas, potentially leading to global oppression if not opposed.

This is the reality for Imaguru today, but if left unchallenged, it could become yours.
Democracy and free ecosystems cannot be taken for granted;
they must be defended.
The Imaguru case is not just a local issue— it’s a global warning sign.
Together, we must act to protect innovation, freedom, and the future of entrepreneurship.

IMAGURU PERSECUTION
DOMESTICALLY
In Exile
Key Persecution Facts Domestically:

  • Searches and property arrest
  • Family members intimidated and questioned
  • Coordinated raids targeted 50+ individuals with former team members questioned and filmed
  • A former employee in jail, sentenced to 4,5 years of prison.
The organic groundswell of activism, a direct result of Imaguru's focus on empowering individuals, posed a threat to the authoritarian regime, ultimately leading to their forced shutdown in Belarus. However, this was not enough for the Belarusian regime.
Determined to undermine Imaguru, the repression was extended beyond Belarus, targeting the hub even as it operated in democratic countries. This highlights how authoritarian regimes increasingly reach beyond their borders, threatening their enemies even within democracies.

Key Persecution Facts in Exile:

  • Founder Tania Marinich and team members faced surveillance.
  • Extremist label leading to financial Isolation, as clients—both individuals and companies—distance themselves to avoid potential repercussions.
  • Operations hacked, web-site blocked, team resigned.
  • Politically motivated trials convicted founders Tania Marinich and Anastasiya Khamiankova, sentencing them to 12 and 11 years in prison in absentia along with property seizures, and a combined $160,000+ in penalties.
  • Statelessness Crisis. The prosecution of Imaguru founders, Tania Marinich and Anastasiya Khamiankova, has left them stateless, stripping them of essential ID documentation

As horrible as the situation in Belarus is, for many — it is still a localized conflict. Which is understandable, as it is a fight against a dictator in a foreign land, to which you have little, if any connection. Why bother?
