Launched in Belarus, Imaguru became one of Eastern Europe’s leading startup hubs. For over a decade, we built more than just an ecosystem—we fostered a community of innovators, empowering entrepreneurs to drive change.
During the political crisis of 2020, the Belarusian regime shut down Imaguru, declaring us an enemy of the state, not because we broke the law, but because entrepreneurship thrives on freedom of thought, innovation, and action - values that threaten the authoritarian control.
The regime couldn’t shut down our mission. We kept going operating in exile, and supporting startups across European Union. Imaguru’s journey proves that entrepreneurial ecosystems can thrive despite adversity, empowering communities to resist oppression.
Repression against Imaguru extended beyond Belarus, leading to 12- and 11-year sentences in prison for its founders. Despite widespread persecution, Imaguru remains committed to supporting entrepreneurship as a fundamental right.
